LGBTQIA Moon Mission patch

Inspired by two identity-based setbacks in US Space History:

Dr. Sally Ride who was a Physicist and the first US female astronaut, remained a closeted queer person her entire life. She was outed post-mortem in a subtle way announcing her surviving partner in her obituary in 2012. Tam E. O'Shaughnessy and Sally were publicly and professionally business partners and privately life partners from 1985.

Jerrie Cobb an accomplished pilot and humanitarian who never went to the Moon but trained with Dr. Lovelace and passed all the same tests as her Mercury male contemporaries. She took her case before Congress and lost in 1962.

This patch is a reminder to advocate and daydream for equity and representation in Space missions.
