Is GRIMES FREE?

One NASA Center Director that I respected and admired called me "Doll" in my mid to late 20s. Another Director who is a Colonel called me "Kid" when I was in my 30s. Somehow I was proud of this familiarity but uncomfortably laughing to myself through the lack of an unspoken respect. Can a pet name mean more or less acknowledgment in this case? I tried to wear more suits and nothing changed. Ultimately makeup and dressing femme does shift the flow of my successes. How does that effect a personal and external understanding of my identity and persona? Can i shape shift? Can I maintain the energy it takes to be a sustainable Artist?

What is the quality of the attention you can hold on social media? Or with anyone addicted to love? drugs? gaming? How and when does attention accumulate into success? How is respect inspired?
